wireless gets signal, essid, ip, etc. but i can't access either network nor the web

hi there

i need help with my wireless device.
the first thing strange about my wlan-card is, that
suse linux 9.3 calls the device ra0 instead of wlan0 ???
number two: i got an ip from my access-point.
i get a signal and iwconfig seems to be ok:

ra0 RT2500 Wireless ESSID:"linksys"
Mode:Managed Frequency=2.462 GHz Access Point: 00:0C:41:67:D6:1D
Bit Rate=11 Mb/s
RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:off
Link Quality=69/100 Signal level:-184 dBm Noise level:-256 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

KWifi confirms these informations.
but i still can't access either web nor local network.
ping says "Destination Host unreachable".

anyone got an idea?

thanks!

This is something that has happened to me many times. I'm not sure what the reasons are, but it seems that it reports having a signal when it really doesn't. For the sake of finding the problem try typing

iwconfig

and hitting enter a bunch of times. You may see that while it looks ok the first time you look at it, subsequent iwconfigs show that you barely have a signal or that your signal is being overwhelmed by noise.
