Why did my wireless connection icon disappeared off my tool bar?
Linux is new to me and during my experimenting I seem to have misplaced the icon for wireless routing. I've been able to find the option to edit my connections but without the icon on the tool bar, well, I'd like it back. Anybody else pulled something like this? I'd appreciate some advice if so. Thanks.
I take it you are using openSuse, no? (By looking at your user-agent icon....)
Can you try to explain the best way to me how you got it to "disappear?" The NetworkManager service just might be disabled, but I want to ask this question before going any further.
Why did my wireless connection icon disappeared off my tool bar?
Dear all..
I have been using linux mint 10 and I cannot see my wireless connection icon on my toolbar.. i can only disply wired-icon and vpn-icon..
Is there anything I can do to get it?
Thanky you..
Assuming that you are using Gnome, set nm-applet to start automatically. (Yooy was close, but but the hyphen is important.) You can do this using the "Startup Applications" tool in the Gnome Control Center.
You could test by running nm-applet from the command line.
Appending the ampersand to the command (nm-applet[space]&) sets it to keep running, but isn't needed in the "Startup Applications" tool. If you started it from a terminal, even with the ampersand, closing the terminal will kill it, or at least it did when I just tested it.
Why did my wireless connection icon disappeared off my tool bar?
hello,
in the start-up application I entered the command you told me: nm-applet. Nothing happens.
Plus, i tried to test it running this command in the terminal I got the following:
-an instance of nm-applet is already running
-WARNING: couldn't initialize the D-Bus Manager
Thanks & Regards,
Luca.
Go to panel and then objekt and look for indicatorplugin. If you not see the plugin then press + and you will see the indicatorplugin there and then press add.
Sorry for my bad english hope you understand. I did this on my computer and I got the icons back.
And I got two of them.
Have a nice day
