Need help with Wireless Network Adapter!!

WIN ME and Wireless USB adapter problem:

We just setup a D-Link DI-614+ wireless Router. I know it does what we want it to do because it does it with two computers no problem, but mine only once every couple hours.

What we are doing is splitting a Cable internet connection. I have a Linksys Instant Wireless USB adapter, but before I installed it I tried a D-Link USB adapter to try to setup the network with no cable internet connetion. About 99% of the time I can't connect to the internet even though I am connected to the network. I uninstall and reinstall everything, trying the odd change in which order I do things, and sometimes I can connect to the internet, but the second my computer restarts, I loose the connection again.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

You said you are on the network but still can't access the internet.
Did you add a nameserver to your system? Can it ping your gatway?

regards
Krishna

I can access the internet, just not all the time.
I've found that if I disconnect the adapter when I turn off the computer, and reconnect it when I start up again, everything works peachy!

It seems to be a problem with initiallizing the adapter on startup.

Its the weirdest thing, it took me a long time to get it to work the first time, and now it is super easy, and I follow the same steps as before. Its just a curiousity thing now...
unless someone knows how to use this thing in Linux???

If still u r not in the internet r u connected with the other pc's. Check whether u r rf coverage area. R u getting signals above 50% If the signal is weak there is possible you may experience this problem..I use Proxim Rangelan2 Lan adapter which works fine for me.. I know there are some tools to check the signals for proxim adapter and that's too for windoze.
