MA101 and at76c503a problems driver won't install

okay, I've been running my MA101b on my Mandrake box for a while. I recently upgraded to version 10.1 and its causing me problems:
It didn't reconize my ma101 (wireless usb) when I installed it.
I got the latest version of the berliOS atmel driver from their CVS. I tried to MAKE, then MAKE INSTALL, but I get the following:
Code:
mkdir -p .tmp_versions
cp /lib/modules/2.6.8.1-12mdksmp/build/.tmp_versions/*.mod /lib/modules/2.6.8.1-12mdksmp/kernel/3rdparty/at76c503a/.tmp_versions
cp: cannot stat `/lib/modules/2.6.8.1-12mdksmp/build/.tmp_versions/*.mod': No such file or directory

Make seems to work ok, the above snippet is when I run Make install.

Obviously, its not loading the module at all. I installed the atmel-firmware RPM from Mandrake. I have the kernel source for my 2.6.8.1-12.

What am I missing? Is there just something wrong with the CVS version I have? I can't get the at76c503 v.11 (tarball) to work either.

thanks. . .
