Fedora Core 3 and atmel wlan driver or the at76c503a driver

Hey,
In the past I've gotten the atmel wlan driver to work for my DWL-120 rev. E usb wireless network adapter under Fedora Core 1.

Now I am running FC3 and am having a few problems trying to get either of the possible drivers to work. With the atmel driver, it will compile after editing the source code in reset_device.c but won't work after modprobing usbvnetr. Also, the patch fails when I try to apply it.

With the other driver, I get problems compiling from source since the driver relies on certain files to be found within the kernel source which has a different structure on FC3.

I guess what it comes down to is me asking if anyone has a method of getting either of these drivers to work under FC3. Thanks in advance.

hey dubya remeber me? lol a couple of things
1. I still have FC1 which i had mine wireless working. I recently switched routers and now it won't connect. Would you mind refreshing my mind if you remember?
2. Apparently 2.6.x kernels are really fussy w/ the atmel driver. Even though I don't like it try the berlios driver @ http://at76c503a.berlios.de

If you're running FC1, atmel driver should work fine...All you do is download it and compile it then install. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your situation (I'm drunk). Please respond with more details if possible. Later.

OK what happens is when I type in the SSID, it doesn't connect. Then I type in the channel. When I re-run iwconfig, it's as if I didn't configure anything. Obviously it shouldn't be doing this. Any thoughts?

Never mind I got it works. It was a case of my stupidity of not know what my MAC address was and the distance between the antennas of my router and my receiver. As for your case, I can't think of anything accept are you applying the patch corrected for the 2.6.x kernels? Otherwise, switch back to FC1 (it's fine)

I never posted about it, but I solved my problem a long time ago by using the berilos driver. For the record, I never did get the driver to work under FC2, but 1 and 3 work fine.
