Kernel 2.6 Supports Wireless

I've noticed in Kernel 2.6.1 there is a little wireless support. The one that interests me is "Hermes chipset 802.11b support (Orinoco/Prism2/Symbol)". Has anyone tried this and had it work? I would much rather use a kernel module than the ones offered by linux-wlan.org to be honest.

Also, the card I'm thinking of buying is the Netgear MA311. According to linux-wlan.org it is supported but I just wanted to know if anyone on this list has used this card?

Cheers,

Darrel

David Hinds' orinoco_cs driver, which supports Prism2, 2.5 &3, Symbol and original ORiNOCO Silver and Gold (Hermes chipset) cards, has been included in the kernel for some time. I much prefer it to the wlan_ng driver.

I have not personally used the MA 311, but there have been a few threads about it. This one is probably a good place to start: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ighlight=ma311

I have a netgear MA311 wireless PCI card and I use that driver in the kernel. Works great for me.
