How to manage encryption?

I have a working D-Link DWL-AG650 and it is connected to WGT624, everything is fine so far. I have installed madwifi and ndiswrapper.

I want to use encryption. The router has three options: none, wep and wpa-psk.

WEP has these options:

Authentication Type: Automatic, Open System or Shared Key
Encryption strength: 64bit, 128bit or 152bit.
Then I can input a passphrase and then generate four keys. Let's say I choose Open System and 64bit, then I enter "gohangyourself" or something and I choose the first key. I then copy the key and do this on my own computer:

Code:
$ iwconfig ath0 enc open
$ iwconfig ath0 key <something>
This has worked before (but back then, for some reason, the card was called wlan0). Now, after I loose connection (as I should do since I turn encryption on), I can't get a new connection at all. I see the accesspoint when I do a scan and I try to change to the correct essid, channel and so on. But no luck.

If no one knows how to fix this at least I would like to know how I can choose between different things using iwconfig (or something). Lets say I use Shared Key, is that the same as "enc restricted"? Or what if I use wpa-psk? How should I do then with the card?

Read iwconfig's manual "man iwconfig". There you can find alot of opritunities.

Of couse I have already read the man. I could not find any good information about encryption, at least not anything I didn't know already. For example, it does not say how to change between WEP and WPA-PSK encryption.
