Question Help with setting up a wireless Kubuntu/Windows xp home network

I have absolutely no idea where to start. All help gratefully received. Set-up is as follows:

Self-build Desktop PC running Kubuntu 8.04 connected to Internet via BTHomehub 2 wirelessly

HP Laptop running Windarse XP also connected to Internet via BTHomehub 2 wirelessly.

I simply want to be able to share files etc, between both machines!

I know this should be simple enough, and I've successfully set up wireless networks between 2 [windows] machines before. But I've had to re-install my Linux box for various reasons so many times already, I don't want to screw things up again!
