I will make the assumption that by 'connect', you mean Windows-style file & printer sharing. You will need to use samba for that. Samba needs to be configured as both a client and a server on the linux host. I mention this, because it is a conceptual hurdle that many people get tripped up by, and knowing the distinction may save you some grief. It is a much too large topic to cover in detail in this forum, but if you go to samba.org, you will find all the information you need. Your particular distribution may have additional tools to confuse, I mean simplify, your task.
