config files

Hi all,
Recently converted from Redhat to Slackware. From newbie to uber-nerd some would say. Anyway i wanted to be forced to learn how to do things without the pretty GUI menus helping me all the time. My question is as follows.

Where are the config files for networking and wireless networking.
For example:
Hostname: to perminately change the hostname.
ifconfig stuff: i can set it, but how does it save it over a reboot.
route add gw: permenately adding the gateway
iwconfig: where does it store wireless settings, like the hex key.

I can use these commands on their own to get what i need, but i haven't been able to find where the config files are to set them for more than one session.
I have found /etc/resolv.conf. Where/what else are these network config files?

Startup scripts are in /etc/rc.d

Internet related are rc.inet1 and rc.inet2 and if your using Slack 9.1 there will be a rc.inet.conf type file for most of the settings.

For wireless settings, I find it best or I just placed mine in the rc.local.

If you want an easy to configure your network, just run netconfig as root and it will update the main configurations for you.

Then just place your wireless commands in rc.local and you should be set to go..
