Cannot get intel wireless pro 3945abg card to work

I'm a complete newbie when it comes to Linux so please bear with me. I can currently only get internet via ethernet which as I'm using a laptop isn't ideal. I don't know how to get my card to pick up the wireless, I have entered the network details for my router but nothing happens.

Any help appreciated

You probably need to check a few things.....

- is the ipw3945 driver installed? If you open a console and run lsmod, you should see it.

- Did you install the firmware? You can find some decent instructions here.

If you've done both those things, then post some details about how you've tried to configure your card as well as the output of iwconfig.

I installed ndiswrapper and now it works. Thanks for the help
