Post output from /sbin/lspci command.
More than likely if Broadcom you will need to use Ndiswrapper with the Windows inf driver. Lots of post on this subject. Once you know the nic model then search for it here to learn about what it takes.

i ran into a similar problem with my compaq v2405us laptop's broadcomm wireless card. slackware 11 supported my card partially but had no WPA support.

i had to extract a .inf and .sys file from the window's driver folder (happened to be bcmwl5.inf and bcmwl5.sys for mine) and use ndiswrapper.

I have dv9008nr with a broadcom as well. It will work, but make sure you compile ndiswrapper and don't use the one from yast. The tutorial on ndis's webpage has worked for me.

http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...p/Installation

Make sure you read the whole page, a few pretty important terminal commands are easy to look past if your skipping down the page. Also make sure, when you extract the windows driver that you put the .inf and .sys files into the same folder before you try and install the drivers with ndiswrapper.

good luck
