Thumbs down VirtualBox guest addition not worked on Ubuntu 14.04

Hello.
I install Ubuntu 14.04 x86 as a VM in VirtualBox. I installed "Linux-source" on Ubuntu too but after Installing guest-addition I can't use my VM in full screen and...
How can I solve it?

Tnx.

How exactly did you install it? Please be specific. Have you restarted the VM after install?

I installed Ubuntu 14.04 x86 in VirtualBox 4.X. After it I installed "linux-source" because guest addition must inject something into Kernel and it needed.I update my ubuntu too but guest addition not worked and I can't work with Ubuntu in full screen

What commands did you use to install it from the terminal? Did you mount the virtual CD or install them from a package?

What error messages are shown during the attempted installation?
I would usually recomend installing the guest additions provided by VirtualBox but, if they are problematic, there ought to be guest aditions available in the Ubuntu Software Centre which are worth a try.

Related to 273's request; you should try launching it from the terminal and report the error messages. Generally, do the following from the terminal. Comments start with a pound symbol (#).

Code:
#mount the cd and use mount command to find the path.
mount
cd /path/to/vbox/mount
#see what binaries are there
ls
#run addons installer
sudo ./VBoxLinuxAddons.run
Then report any errors. You could attach a txt files.
