Tape library in Linux


Hi,

Can i use my Hard Disk partition as a tape ?
If yes how can I achieve it ?

the most you can do is use tar on files on that partition. No tape functions (like rewind/retention/etc)

Does linux supports any driver or package which does this ?

Not that I'm aware of. Why do you need to emulate tape anyway? Files are easier to work with
