Question Question about copying files from windows to a virtualbox guest without gui

I am installing Debian 7.8 without a desktop into VirtualBox 4.33.

I'm new to sharing files in anyway.

What steps should I take to create a directory in my virtualbox, that I can copy files to from a windows directory? Or in otherwords, how can I do this?

There are a number of ways. I might be tempted to look at using a shared folder. It is a location where both windows and linux can access the files.

Either set up a shared folder through the virtualization software, or use an sftp client on windows to connect to the VM through ssh and transfer files that way (any network protocol would work - FTP, samba, etc., but sftp doesn't require any additional packages or configuration on the Linux VM).
