3 days back, I found a menu named "Devices", at the top of the Virtual box window which had a check box named "Usb devices..", I checked that, my mouse pointers got trapped by the Windows XP running as the guest
That's quite a gotcha! It is mentioned in the User Guide in a boxout note in "3.10.1 USB settings". I submitted an enhancement request 8 months ago (plug!) for a way to configure VMs to ensure that the likes of USB keyboards could be configured to never appear in the Devices menu of the host's window for the VM's screen.
I didn't do what you said yesterday (I forgot that you mentioned GUI configuration menu, I was looking for it elsewhere), in fact I installed the guest additions through Devices menu and it solved the problem of mouse pointers. Thanks for taking interest in my problem.

I checked that yesterday, in GUI, USB-> the text box is all empty, there is nothing to be checked or unchecked!
Sorry -- that list is not populated by default; you have to manually add devices. Its behaviour is thus different from the Devices -> USB Devices menu on the host's window for the guest display which is populated with all the USB devices on the host. You may find that you can manually add the mouse and it will appear selected, in which case you can then clear it.
