Hello, I'll have to go and check out your forum, I live near chipley, and might be interested in joining, what does a lug do. looked into the one in Pensacola a couple years ago, but never joined due to the driving distance. I'm not an IT person by any means, just happen to be good with computers and I like using and playing around with linux.

The site and forum were down earlier today, but are back up now. Come say Hi!

Basically, I figure we'll meet once a month and eventually have demonstrations of setting up particular types of open source software on Linux, share experiencs with specific distros, etc... I'm thinking a sort of social gathering, but with Linux and open source software being the focus of attention. Realistically, I doubt we'll ever be very large in this area, so I could even host events at my house unless we somehow got so big we needed a bigger place. Advocacy, socializing etc... but on a local level.

I would like to eventually see some community involvment, maybe with installfests or taking old donated PCs, outfitting them with Linux, and placing them into needful homes.

I don't have a real good answer for you on specifics... but you can have a voice in what we do
