FC-6 installation on Dell optiplex 745, Sata CDRWDVD Rom


i'm not able to start the installation process of fedora core 6 linux on Dell optiplex-745 configuration of the PC is pentium D 3.0 GHz processor, HDS728080-PLA 380 SATA hard drive, PBDS CDRWDVD-Rom DH48C2S. when i boot the PC With Fedora core 6 installation DVD provided with the book "fedora 6 & Red Hat Enterprise linux Bible". i'm struck with the start up message "ISOLINUX 3.11 2005-09-02 Copyright (c) 1994-2005 H.PETER ANVIN" & nothin is happening afterwards.

Set the BIOS to use legacy or generic mode for the hard drive, also check with Dell you will need drivers for your system. Dell also has a Linux help forum which should be helpful.

hi Lenard

i tried to change the BIOS setting and then boot, but it's just showing the following message
"ISO LINUX 3.11 2005-09-02 Copyright (c) 1994-2005 H Peter Anvin".
and does nothing after tat. H/W details i've already given.

Then try a new version of the first CD, the ISO images are here(along with the rest):
