As you probably know, you can run YaST from the terminal.

su to root, and enter the command:
yast sw_single

This will give you the software installer module.
You can sort by package groups. If you select a KDE program to install, it will also select all of the X11 packages that you need.

Here is a list of x11 packages that I have installed. I have OpenSuSE 10.1 so some packages may be different. You might not need them all, but it might help:
> rpm -q --all | egrep -i '(x11)' | sed 's/-[[:digit:].-]*$//'

As you can see, I removed the version numbers, since your's will all be different.

I hope this isn't too overwelming. You may not need such a long list, but this list is shorting than the package groups list.

I ran yast -i

The packages is there, as I said; I did install and did not set it up ( Xorg/server)

>root login;

When I start GDM it says;

gdm config parse, cannot find gdm group (noboby) Aborting.

Why 'noboby' ?? I did logged as ROOT.

win pop up told me to find somthing in;

etc/opt/gnome/gdm/gdm.conf

First I would recommend running the YasT -> Hardware -> Monitor setup. There may be an option when you finish whether you want to use gdm to login. I'm not certain where this setting is. After setting up the monitor in yast (SaX2 module), you could try init 5 to start x windows. If this works, you can manually edit the default runlevel in /etc/inittab. 5 is the runlevel to start graphically.

If you have ssh set up, you can even run YaST remotely, however, you need the x server running to forward packets to your location.
