xsane

xsane does not see my scanner, but sudo xsane does. I get permission denied to open the scanned image with Gimp, but can open and print if I do sudo gimp. Similar results with Simple Scan.

I changed owner of xsane from root to me, but still get the above results.

Linux Mint 17 MATE 32 bit. Epson Expression 636 that can run either parallel or SCSI. It is connected to Adaptec SCSI card. No SCSI dive.

Hi...

Do any of the solutions here work? If not, you can take a look through my Google search here.

Regards...
