XMMS Skins

It's a fairly simple task but I am not sure how to go about doing this.

I went to xmms.org and downloaded some skins for the audio player. It saved all the skins in *.zip format on my /home/cwilliams/Desktop/*.zip.

I am wondering what is the process to extracting these zip files on Linux and then I would just "mv" them to my current skins dir, right?

Yes, just move the zip files to the xmms skins directory in /home/user/.xmms. You can also extract the contents of the zip files and move the themes to a global directory such as /usr/share/xmms/Skins.

FYI in case you weren't aware, XMMS and BMP support Winamp Classic skins as well which will open up your search criteria a bit

Xmms can also read skins in tar.gz and tar.bz2 archives.

If I understand this, I don't need to extract them from .zip format and XMMS will still reconize and read the skin?

That is correct. As long as you have a useable version of unzip installed you should be fine.
