Xinerama + Video Wallpaper

I read

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ayer+wallpaper

that thread and was very impressed with the idea of video wallpaper. However, I run a 4-head Xinerama setup, off of two nVidia cards. Every head can render video and 3d just fine, so that's not the issue.

But the only way that I can think to get one properly sized video wallpaper per head is to start multiple copies of mplayer, one per head, and specify the geometry manually so they line up properly. I'd rather not do this, because it seems like it's a silly hack and that there should be a better way.

Currently, I'm using imlibsetroot to set my (static) backgrounds, which is Xinerama aware, so I can easily get a different background on each head.

Currently, what happens is the video background ends up getting drawn half on one monitor and half on another. Plays fine, but looks silly. Any ideas?
