Question Ximian2

Hi all!

I am hoping that I have posted this thread in the right forum...

Anyway, my question is pretty straightforward... I am interested in your experiences with Ximian Desktop 2. I have installed it myself, it's working out quite nicely for me, but I'd like some feedback from people who have more experience with it. In particular, I'd like to know how Ximian compares to other flavours of GNOME and KDE.

What do you like about it? What do you hate about it? Do you care to share some of your experiences with it? What do you think of RedCarpet?

Please keep in mind that I am choosing a standard GUI for our own in-house Linux distro. Assume that this GUI will be used by completely computer illiteral people, so if the only reason for turning down XD2 is because it doesn't compile fast... don't bother replying.

Any kind of feedback woud be greatly appreciated. You see, I work for U of T and I am looking for a nice GUI to standardize on. Therefore, I need to be well-informed.

Thanks!
