X locking up (Slack 9)

Hello,
I'm using Slack 9.0 and I'm having a problem with X locking up. I've left it sit for half an hour and it will not unfreeze. I use Gnome, so I tried using KDE to see if that was the problem, but it still does it.

I'm a newbie, so I don't even know where to start. Does anyone have this problem?

You're a newbie and using Slackware!?! I assume you know why that;s not recommended.....

It's probably buggy drivers. Try changing the drivers or video card you use.
