wvdial


hai all

I recently installed smart link internel modem on my pc. installing the modem files on debian went fine. when i enter the command "wvdial" it is connecting to the internet after that its asking for password. I have already entered the login name and password in /etc/wvdial.conf, even when i enter the correct password when prompted it says wrong password. how can i connect it. pls help me. This is what happens when i enter wvdial


debian:~# wvdial

I would guess that you have told wvdial.conf that your user name is ATDT172306. Please post your wvdial.conf with the password xxxx out.

Hai

i solved the problem by adding 'carrier check = no ' in the last line.


[Dialer Defaults]
Phone = 172306
Username = samkknagar
Password = xxxx
New PPPD = yes
Modem = /dev/ttySL0
Baud = 460800
Init1 = ATZ
ISDN = 0
Modem Type = Analog Modem
Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
Carrier Check = no
