just wondering if ANYONE has actually got wine to work past a dialoge box or spash screen. I think the reason the winehq page doesn't have a user forum is that it would be so chocked with 'help, i can't get this program to work' messages it would eat the space and bandwidth.
Personally i have NEVER got wine to work. I've tryed several programs on their "gold list" and all of them have failed compleatly (except winamp 3 [silver list] which displayed a splash screen then stalled)
I have gotten multiple versions of wine to run a miraid of applications on a miriad of nix's. Here's a list of program's I have run in wine.
Dreamweaver
Acrobat
Internet Explorer
Excel, Word, Outlook (2000, xp...no 2003 yet)
Adobe Go-Live!
Winzip
A windows 2000 remote installation
Windows Update(LOL)
misc VB applications
oh yeah.....and both WineX AND Crossover office are good investments if you can't get an app you like to run the way you want. Even though I can make everyhting I want run in wine...I have purchased both and love em both!!!
