wine quest

hi friends,

You see, recently I thought it would be a good idea wining some applications.
In my red hat 9.0, no wine was installed, so I downloaded the new version (september 12 2003 i believe) and installed it cleanly.
Unfortunately, each time I use the command ($wine someting.exe) I get segmentation fault.
Can you suspect any possible problems?
Should I use some other version of wine or my system lacks something?
thanks!

I vaguely remember that RedHat 9.0 uses glibc 2.3, as Mandrake 9.1 does also. They originally had a great deal of trouble with the new version of glibc and wine. The fixes have been worked out now (I think?) But make sure you download an RPM compiled on glibc 2.3 or you will get an error similar to the one you're getting now.

If you get that worked out, try running something simple like notepad.exe or something.
