WinE

Im new to linux and I wanted to run programs from my Windows partition in linux. I know that I should be able to run some prgrams with WinE the only problem is I have no idea how. I'm running RedHat 8.0 and if anyone could help me or send me a link with instructions I would be most grateful.

Thanks,
lasalsademuerte

it seems that within the first month of using linu, every newbie thinks that wine is the answer to all their problems. it is not. it can be difficult to set up at the best of times, let alone for a novice user. it can be made to work with some4 applciations, but i would strongly advise against deciding to rely on it. it should always be one of the last options you go for, long after you have spent time finding if there is a suitable linux native equivalent, which there normally is.

once again for luck. Wine is NOT a magical cure-all. it's much closer to an old wives tale imho.
