Wine

I want to use wine. I've tried to start Windows Media Player 10 using wine and I keep getting the initial install wizard for WMP10. Once I clear that I keep getting "You need to reinstall WMP10" It works fine on my windows partition.

Probably because its not supported by wine yet, it hasn't even been released as stable yet has it? If you want v10 for the online store, iTunes works under wine.

When you mean stable are you talking about for Windows? It's been out for Windows for a while now.

I'm wanting to use it for WMV/WMA due to Kaffeine 0.5 having that annoying playlist that I can't seem to disable.

Sorry, didn't know it had been released. Well you might get v8 or 9 running but I doubt you'll get 10. However I did manage to get the MSN Messenger 7 BETA working reasonably this arvo so what would I know?

If it's Windows Media you want to play, then XMMS (possibly with a plugin) will play WMA and MPlayer will play WMV

Wine doesn't support ITunes you'd have to use Codeweavers Office Cross Over
