Why does my browser not support this web game?

My little son of 7 tries to play this game:

http://www.spel.nl/game/drivers-ed.html

But it only shows a white screen. A number of other games from this site do work correctly. Playing this same game from another site doesn't work either.

I can't tell my son that he is limited in his gaming experience because he is not running windows, can I?

I have tried in Opera 10.10 and Iceweasel which identifies itself as:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091216 Iceweasel/3.5.6 (like Firefox/3.5.6; Debian-3.5.6-1)

Can someone tell me what kind of game it is, and what prerequisites I have to meet before it runs. Is this Splash, Java or what? If someone can run it on a Linux platform and you know the application it uses, for what version of the application it does run?

It's possibly Shockwave, in which case you'll need some sort of Windows browser as it was never ported to *nix. Maybe try ies4linux to work around it?

OK, didn't know that there was yet another format not supported in Linux.

Thanks.

I just logged on to that site and scrolled down to the "Car Park Challenge, clicked on it and it loaded a new screen after 15-20 seconds, got a new screen with an image of a car, clicked Play, entered a name in the box clicked play again and used the arrows to crash into one other car and two shopping carts. It just takes a while to load. I'm using PCLinux and Firefox 3.0.11.

Decided to try Konqueror. Loaded the first page, clicked the Car Park Challenge - no result. There was an icon in the lower right of the window which said "This web page contains coding error"??

Works here...

FF 3.6 / Flash 10.0 r42

Interesting side note: Plain old Adobe flash often shows up as "Shockwave Flash" in the plugins list. (I have never seen anything that needed the real shockwave.)
