Why can't I install this?
Mandrake 9.1
I'm trying to install gettext 0.12.1 'cause I need it to install xfstt 1.5.1
Downloaded from gnu.org,untar...
Logged into console as root
Typed ./configure (everything seems fine)
then...make and this is what i get
(please follow the link 'cause Its a long post and I can't put long post or attachments)

well i'd guess that "No veo donde está el problema............... " means "I can't see anything" as that's what i'd say too... what's WRONG?
there is also no need to copy ALL of the output, that's not useful. only lines that say "error" are gonna be any use.

Mandrake rpms exist
I looked at rpmfind.net, looked for gettext, and found that rpms geared toward Mandrake are availalble. Unfotunately the version is not as recent as the one you are trying to install (it has 0.11).

it probably was, just ni a different location further down your path search list.... as most RPM's are typically configured to install in /usr/bin rather than /usr/local/bin or something. remove the rpm first.... but then you should really be doing that anyway as otherwise your going to ruin your rpm database

Yes,It has been installed into /usr instead /usr/local
my question is: do I have to uninstall an rpm before installing new versions (not rpm)?
