where are Pidgin chat logs?

Where does Pidgin store its chat conversation logs? I know where Gaim stored them, but that location doesn't contain the logs saved since I downloaded Pidgin.

It stores them in ~/.purple

Thanks. Purple? That name doesn't follow. The designers could have done the obvious and named it /.pidgin . Or put the logs in the old gaim folder.

Ah, but then where is the challenge? Anyway, it's in the manual (that's where I found it). Maybe "purple" because of the colour of the Pidgin icon? What do you reckon?
Anyway, at least it's sorted.
