What should i do ? I forgot to set my modem type in instalation.

Eh .. i am a newbie on linux. I installed slackware linux 10.1 and i forgot to set the modem type. Now i have slackware installed on my pc .. but i have net problems. I set all in netconfig, but i think that the problem is that.

What should i do ? Can i set a modem type now .. or i have to reinstall the linux ?

Please help, thx !

Eazy all you need to do is go to a consol and su to root

once your root type
pkgtool

you can rerun though the setup scripts in there.

but if your in a bind you can always go into the /dev directory and create a symlink to the com port used for the modem like thus

if modem was on com1 then

ln -s /dev/ttyS01 /dev/modem

See im not totaly useless here

Thanks man, now is all ok. The problem wasn`t the modem, but the router.
