What is best for a website filter for my kids? Snort in inline mode, or a squid proxy

What is best for a website filter for my kids? Snort in inline mode, or a squid proxy

I want to be able to either block specified sites, or perhaps only allow certain sites. Would Snort or Squid work better for that?

If "site" is defined as "HTTP address" and "better" as "efficient" then I'd say black slash whitelisting points to using any proxy.
