What can do scheduled remote back-ups to a remote ftp server?

I'm looking for the simplest way (preferably something with a GUI if possible) to do scheduled daily transfers of my shared linux directory and it's sub-directories to a remote ftp account.

Ideally, I would like to find an app that is intelligent enough to see if the data on the ftp server is outdated or missing before deciding to copy it from my local linux machine. I would also like it to be able to delete data on the ftp sever if it's not present on my current machine.

I'm hoping to find an app that can be automated to do daily backups on it's own while I sleep.

Does anyone have any suggestions for any apps that at least provide some of this functionality? Thanks in advance.

I should mention that the reason I need it to be ftp (even though it's less secure) is because I'm trying to transfer the data to the ftp account of my website that's provided to me through a web hosting company.

I know that there are better options but this is the cheapest for me at the moment and I don't have any personal information in the data for me to worry about someone else seeing it.
