What's the best way to compress image files in Linux?


I want to compress some large image files (about 20-30 Gb, created with dd) and wanted to know the best option. Any ideas? I'm not sure of the pros/cons of using zip, bzip2, or gzip.

bzip get higher compression

7zip compress the highest ratio.
