Question wakealarm, alarm on Asrock 4Core Dual VSTA

Hi experts,

my VCR (MythBuntu) box's SATA controller died and thus made me change the motherboard to an Asrock 4Core Dual VSTA.

One functionality the VCR depends on is lacking since: On shutdown, it should remember the time for the next recording in BIOS's ACPI settings. This is done by writing the target time to /sys/class/rtc/rtc0/wakealarm in seconds since Jan 1st 1970.

I have had no luck yet getting this mechanism to work on the Asrock. It worked quite well on an Intel DG965RY for about 3 years, so the software side "should" be Ok.

When I set the desired time directly in BIOS, it works as expected.

Has someone experienced a similar problem on an Asrock 4Core Dual VSTA and got a solution?
BIOS update?
Software workaround?
Anything?
