Vsftpd - Can sort of connect?

Hi there,

I just purchased a dedicated server. And I'm using webmin to set it up. I totally bit off more than I can chew here but please try to help me anyways lol. I'm trying to get FTP up and running on it and its sort of working.

What I have done is turned Vsftpd on and created a user called wh33t, the user wh33ts home directory is /var/www/html. When I log in through putty it takes me to that directory, so I presume that i have set its home directory properlly.

I have used Root to go chmod og=rwx html/ and changed the permissions as such, (do I need this?)

Now on my windows box where I do all my php and design and what not I can only seem to connect through the command line ftp. It works fine as far as I can tell, I can create directories and delete them. yet when I use filezilla to connect (which is my preffered method of connecting I get:

Error: Transfer channel can't be opened. Reason: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
Error: Could not retrieve directory listing

Thats after I try to connect, its like it almost happens. Also tried using the built in FTP Explorer thing of windows and it also can't quite connect. Anyone able to tell me what the problem is?

(Active) FTP needs port TCP/21 and port TCP/20 open on the server. Is your server or client firewall blocking it?
