volume in gnome
I don't know if this is the right forum, but I was just wondering why my PCM volume in Gnome still let's through sound when it's way at the bottom? It even shows the little red 'X' there on the taskbar-icon. (I use PCM to set my volume and keep master at the way top, since I'm guessing PCM is closer to the source of the sound - at least, if I have PCM at the way top and use master, I can't have the sound as loud without distortion from my little laptop.) Of course, opening the volume control program and clicking the speaker-icon to turn off sound works, just wanted to be able to mute by turning the volume way down...
