vnstat/sylpheed info

Just started using vnstat to monitor internet usage. There are 2 totals, an rx and a tx, can someone please explain those, what's the difference, etc? What does estimated mean?

And

Testing sylpheed for email, but it won't save sent email to sent folder. I had to change the port number to 587 in order to send email, but I'm puzzled as to why it won't save the email. ????

Tried to get to this webpage, however it timed out.

Typically RX means Received and TX means Transmit.

You can see these if you run.

Code:
ifconfig -a

I thought it must be something like that, but the 'x' part was a question. Especially since I kept track of everything I downloaded and the 2 totals were radically different, like 100MB more for vnstat. That has to be the webpages themselves doesn't it?

these are two completely different and unrelated topics.
i suggest you start a new topic for your email problem, and edit post #1 of this thread accordingly.
