vlc is unable to open the mrl


hi I have installed vlc on centos 6 and it is working fine but it is not playing network shared files.When vlc is made to play network files it gives the error as given below
Vlc is unable to open the mrl. Anybody knows how to remove this issue.

Just paste "Vlc is unable to open the mrl" into google and you'll get loads of hits and maybe even a solution.
