Can anyone point me (or tell me) a guide to install Visualboyadvance gtk? I tried ./configure, make, and make install, but I got an error and I'm guessing I compiled it wrong. I am running slackware 13.0. Thanks in advance!

You have to be more precise, when do you have an error in the compile process and what is the error. Most software have a readme file that tell you how to install (compile) them, when you decompress the software go look for that file.
Then post your error here.
cd VisualBoyAdvance-1.8.0
patch -p1 < visualboyadvance_1.8.0-4.diff
cp debian/patches/* .
.. where the dot ( . ) means the current directory.
.. And apply all patches 01*...08* with
patch -p1 < .....
./configure && make

Sorry .. forgot the gtk part.
You will need these, in the suggested order :
1) libsigc++ http://packages.debian.org/sid/libsigc++-2.0-0c2a
[libsigc++-2.0_2.0.18.orig.tar.gz], [libsigc++-2.0_2.0.18-2.diff.gz]
src2pkg libsigc++-2.0_2.0.18.orig.tar.gz
( 'src2pkg' will include the patch automatically,
if present in the same directory.)
.. A later version of libsigc++ will not work with visualboyadvance.
Sorry if this seems kinda non-helpful, but I've tried the native *nix VBA (precompiled; I got it from the software repos), and to be honest, I find that the Windows version under Wine works a lot better...
That might just be because my machine sucks, though (P4 2.66GHz w/ 1.5GB RAM), so your story might be a little different than mine.
