you can split that command into two parts:
Code:
wget -O- https://www.virtualbox.org/download/oracle_vbox_2016.asc > /tmp/oracle_vbox_2016.asc
cat /tmp/oracle_vbox_2016.asc | sudo gpg --yes --output /usr/share/keyrings/oracle-virtualbox-2016.gpg --dearmor
does the first command (line) work?
You all good people, I had so many problems, what is all this about?
What was it supposed to rectify?

Please help me understand

Thank you all

Near as I can tell this will reinstall the ORACLE version and make things worse, but I am not about to try it to verify that.

If you are asking what happens when you add the oracle repo after you already installed their debfile, nothing interesting happens now. But when they update you'll get it as part of normal apt updates. Plus when/if they release 7.1 or 8.0 it'll be available for installation.
