in the split screen i want to know how to put another window in awhile i'm already looking at 2. I want it to be a side to side though instead of just dropping it on top of everything else.
i hate horizontal split it makes looking at code side by side a bit more difficult. but i tried the number with vs and that seems to give me a blank screen or i just do : o and a different name to start coding.

Yeah, horizontal split can take a filename argument too. Makes a great reference tool when several shell scripts interact.

Ah. I don't do any *real* coding; HTML and shell script is my code. Someday I want to learn some C and get a little more into Perl. For shell scripts, the horizontal split helps a lot.
Then again, I may change my mind if I ever get a widescreen monitor too. /me bookmarks the page in case he ever wins the lottery...
