video now player for linux?


has anyone worked on creating a software player for linux to play "video now" disks? or even a codec for mplayer?

i have half a mind to buy a video now disk and see if i can't play it on my linux box...
they are 3.5" disks and i'm not sure if they're proprietary and if so, just how proprietary, and if anyone has found a way to play them on linux...
