video encoding for use in powerpoint
Not strictly linux related i suppose, but i'm trying to use linux based tools for the job since i can't find any free alternatives for windows.
Basically, my brother is making a powerpoint presentation for school, which is why he can't use a linux app that does the same thing. Anyways, i'm trying to convert a quicktime video to a format that Powerpoint can use.
First i tried:
mencoder -oac mp3lame -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4 -o walmart.avi walmart.mov
Windows wouldn't play that so after some searching around I tried:
mencoder -oac mp3lame -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=msmpeg4v2 -o walmart.avi walmart.mov
Windows will play this one but PowerPoint refuses to load it! Argh!
Is there a solution to this? Other than paying for a windows app to do the conversion, or using a linux alternative to PowerPoint, of course.
A free windows app, that doesn't deface the video with a logo, maybe?
Cheers
Dan
