Unhappy Valknut always passive

Hello,

I am trying to use valknut 0.3.7 in slackware 10.1

My ethernet card 192.168.178.5 connected to a router. Opened 1412 udp/tcp ports to my card's ip.

I set the program for active mode.
I set my external (isp) ip 213.5.xx.yy
tcp / udp ports to 1412

I am connecting to hubs, allthough with obstacles. On some I see ALL the users in passive mode, including me!

My tag is:
<DCGUI V:0.3.7,M:P,H:1,S:5>
M:P = passive mode (!)

On other hubs the things are normal (users passive /active) but I am still passive.

So, I can download only from active users and no search!

I am very confused, because occasionaly I CAN search. Most of the time the others are in passive mode, so valknut can't download. But i figured something strange. In search results i CAN download from the users that in hub column the hub NAME appears. Those users appears to be in active mode.
you can see here:
(add the prefix) users.altecnet.gr/korgman/linux/slack10.1/valknut_search.png

So my question is, do I miss something? I am discouraged. This program seems great, it's a pitty that i can't used it. And WHY my tag informs that i am in passive?

With dc++ on xp I don't have problems. I prefer linux, ideas?

Allthough it is also written on valknut's manual. Din't helped. I even left opened both 1412 and 9176 ports and made effort with both ports configured in valknut, exactly same results.

Thank you for your interest, still seeking for the solution..

also I have those errors from command line:

warning : failed to load external entity "/root/.dc//emoticons.xml"
I/O warning : failed to load external entity "/root/.dc/dcprof.cfg"
I/O warning : failed to load external entity "/root/.dc/dchub.cfg"

be aware, I am NOT running valknut as root! root/.dc/ is empty allthough folders exists. (chatlog, filelist, plugin, image)

Maybe someone can post the dclib.cfg file which is the configuration from settings..

Also, iptables have something to with the problematic connection?

This is my iptables report:
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

Chain FORWARD (policy DROP)
target prot opt source destination
ACCEPT all -- anywhere anywhere state RELATED,ESTABLISHED
ACCEPT all -- anywhere anywhere

Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

Hey, rickh.

one problem solved.
(prefix)dcgui.berlios.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2939

If the transfer can't be made:

"switch to the 'Wait' tab, right-click on the user and select 'Edit Transfer'. In the dialog box that pop up, there is an option called 'Known Hubs'. Change the known hub to the other option (usually there are at least two, often one is just an IP address) and click OK. To make the transfer start, right-click the user again, and select 'Try Connect"

To your question:

I opened ports 9176 (tcp / udp) with direction to my internal ip. Same ports of course on valknut.

AND I tried to open different port (6881). Now i can use (in totally luck) I can use a hub without problem in active mode. In other hubs I see ghosts, or bricks on all users (passive mode me too)

That maybe is due the hub server's configuration?

I will experiment with different ports..
