I've installed Valknut from a .tgz package on Slackware 10.1 using "installpkg", the program runs alright but every time I close down and restart the program, none of the preferences are saved, and there arent even any defaults set, everything is blank or set to 0. I cant figure out where it would save this to in order for me to check whether the preference file is writable or not (I had a problem with Gaim before like this, I found out that the permissions for the preference file were preventing it from writing to it ).

If anybody can help, its much appreciated.

I might add that i just removed the package and did a make install from the dc-0.3.7.tar.gz package. the same thing happens, none of the defaults show up, and this time when i run the command "valknut" from the terminal, i get this stead stream of "listening on socket" running down the terminal. oh boy.
