UT installation problems

When i try to install UT 2003 it goes through the first disk fine, then it asks for me to mount the play disk. No matter which disk i mount (from a separate terminal), when i push 'yes' i then get this error:

mount: /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 already mounted or /mnt/cd busy
mount: according to mtab, /dev/ide/host1/bus0/target0/lun0/cd is already mounted on /mnt/cd

After mounting the disk i cd into just to check that it is mounted propperly (which it is). Unreal just doesn't seem to 'know' that the second disk is mounted.

I know this post should be in the games forum, but i already posted my problem there and got no response. Please help!

at the console, what happens if you issue the umount command and then click the yes button?

I think the way I got it to install was to temporarily remove all lines in my fstab file that refered to cd devices.... then try it as per the instructions.

I copied the install shell script, which is on the 3rd CD to my /tmp directory and ran it. When it asks for the 'play cd', it actually wants the 1st CD, so stick it in the drive and mount it and then continue with the install. When it asks for the 1st CD, it really needs the 2nd one, and when it asks for the 2nd one, mount the 3rd one. Just a little hiccup in the install script, but it does install and play well.

i tried copying the install script to my /tmp directory ,i get the same error (i even tried mounting the play disc before starting the install), and i tried removing all cdrom info from my fstab, it didn't show any errors, but i couldn't get past the 'yes' for mounting the play cd, however since there were no other errors flooding the screen i noticed this:

Gtk-WARNING **: GModule initialization check failed: Gtk+ version too old (micro mismatch)

I just updated my gtk and gtk2, but this shouldn't affect my install should it??

When i mount the cd's i can go into them so i don't think there is anything wrong with the disks (should i maybe exchange them for another copy??). Could i maybe just copy the files to the appropriate directories(though how i'd figure out which i don't know)
