Upgrading with RPM

Hi, I have Samba 2.0.7 running on redhat 7.1 and want to upgrade Samba to 2.2x. If I download the proper rpm for redhat7.1 available at samba.org, will redhat remove the old version, update it or will I end up with 2 versions installed? Is there a standard behaviour for rpm updates or is each package unique?

Thanks.

I think it's
Code:
rpm -uhv your_new_package.rpm
to upgrade rpms. Try 'man rpm' to see what else it can do.

Close mcleodnine, it's rpm -Uhv your_new_package.rpm. It needs an upper case ' U '.

Case, schmase. Since when did that ever really matter?

actually I did not use uppercase as i live on the west coast of canada and we now hava a tax on all uppercase characters. the emoticons above will cost me about six bucks ...exclamation point...

I actually came back to change it from -uhv to -uhV - good thing U got here first. I stand doubly corrected, although halfway pre-empted.
